At this age, crawling, walking and eventually running are obstacles Toddlers conquer in what seems like the blink of an eye. They are learning new social skills and with that comes a new level of emotions. A Child's Place Child Care is developed to provide hands-on activities that allow children to explore, inquire, and discover solutions first hand.
At A Child's Place Child Care we help develop the emotional and educational environment created from infant activities. I provide hands-on activities that allow children to explore, inquire and discover solutions first-hand. As a toddler, your child is learning so many new and exciting things. From the early stages of crawling, to those beginning steps, they have been experimenting and meeting new challenges daily. New social skills and emotions are developing during interaction with other children, resulting in a brand new phase of communication. Their activity level expands and their mobility strengthens to the next level of development. A Child's Place Child Care will help focus on building language, creativity, fine and gross motor skills, and social interaction. An update is given to each family on curriculum involvement, meal times, nap times, toilet training, and other daily activities. My goal is for your toddler to mature into a preschooler ready, willing, and able to take the next step toward positive and healthy development.
Infants:
First let me say, most infants and their parents set their daily schedule before coming to me. I work extremely hard to stay as close to that set schedule as possible. The last thing a parent wants is to pick up their infant and have them completely off schedule every evening.
That being said, my days with infants provide the highest quality care in an environment that is designed with the parent and child in mind. While in my care, babies are stimulated through music, exercise, facial and verbal mimicking as well as lots of hugs and tickles.
We provide each child with a crib/pack-n-play (unless the parents insist on bringing one from home); clean sheet and blanket, and a drawer for their personal items. Toys are sanitized as needed throughout the day as well as every evening. Supplies provided by the parent include disposable diapers (once a week…or I can keep an inventory and let them know when I need more), along with any needed a change of clothes; bottles; formula or mother’s milk labeled with the child’s first and last name and dated.
I give each child love and attention and provide parents with daily reports on feedings, diapering, and napping. Healthy growth and development is another top priority at A Child's Place Child Care. I have obtained CPR training/certification to help ensure your child’s well being. You will have peace of mind that your child is in good hands with A Child's Place Child Care.
Baby Sign Language:
Research has shown that a babies brain develops much faster than their vocabulary. Babies know what they want and when they want it – well before they are actually able to ask for it!
Wouldn’t it be great if your baby could let you know when they were;- Hungry, Thirsty, Tired or Cold? Well it is actually possible if you & your baby learn some simple Sign Language.
There are many advantages to using Sign Language with your baby. Many recent studies have been carried out on Babies that Sign, and just some of the benefits are listed below;-
Infants taught sign language:
Can communicate wants and needs to their caregivers at an early age
Will have an earlier understanding of the English language
May learn to speak earlier
Could have an above-average ability later in life to learn a new language
May possibly have a higher I.Q.
Parents who sign with their baby may experience:
Lower frustration levels (for both parent and baby) because the baby can communicate with you
Deeper bonding with their baby because they have greater insight into their baby’s mind
A higher level of trust from their baby because he or she knows that you understand what he or she is trying to tell you
Satisfaction. What a great feeling it is to know that you can effectively communicate with your pre-verbal infant
Baby Sign Language Benefits
Signing reduces frustration for you and your baby
Your baby will experience less tears & tantrums, as a result of less frustration
Signing will not delay speech and language development – it will actually enhance and accelerate it!
Signing can help you as a parent;- - To know what your baby does or does not like - To let you know when your baby is tired - To let you know when your baby is hungry or thirsty - To help you Identify if your baby is injured or in pain - To allow your baby to communicate using simple signs (drink, more, eat, get & MORE))
You will spend less time playing ‘the guessing game’ trying to work out what your baby actually wants.
Your baby or child will be happier if they are able to communicate their thoughts & desires
Your baby will gain a higher self esteem and level of confidence
Many people think that babies that are taught sign language will be slower to learn to talk – however this is definitely not the case. The opposite is actually true! Studies have shown that a baby that is taught to sign will be more motivated and want to speak sooner than a baby or child that has never communicated before.
I will introducing this to the Infants around the age of 6 Months.
